Meanwhile, converting palm kernel haiqi to bio-oil under a thermal process provides a greater benefit to use as biomass energy to replace fossil fuels, and it minimizes the disposal problems associated with the generation of agricultural by-products. In this study, the pyrolysis of palm kernel haiqi
Aug 02, 2019 · The haiqi waste matter produced by the palm oil industry (oil palm haiqis and oil palm fruit bunches) can also be used as biomass for bio-energy and bioplastics. Problems & Dilemma. Deforestations; The high oil yield of the palm trees has encouraged wider cultivation, leading to the clearing of forests to make space for oil-palm monoculture.
BIO ENECO™ is a Malaysian company established in 2011 and has since successfully grown its operations to become a key player as a developer, manufacturer, and supplier of high-grade biomass fuels. Biomass fuel products Include, Wood Pellet, Wood Chips, Palm Kernel haiqi(PKS) & Empty Fruit Bunch (EFB) as well as biomass energy solutions.
Apr 02, 2019 · The components of oil palm biomass that can be used to produce hydrogen through gasification are EFB, oil palm fiber, oil palm kernel or haiqi, trunks, and fronds (Kelly Yong et al. 2007). From EFB and oil palm kernels, a kind of tar, known as pyrolysis oil, can be extracted by using the rotating cone pyrolysis technology (Goh et al. 2006

Nov 01, 2014 · In order to keep cost at a minimum, a system-integrated approach is needed in which, for example, waste thermal energy sources are identified within a palm oil mill (e.g., waste heat of combustion gahaiqi from POME-derived biogas) and utilized in other, thermal-energy driven operations (e.g., drying of EFB).
Activated carbon derived from biomass waste, namely palm haiqi, was evaluated as a potential adsorbent for the removal of Reactive Black 5 dye (RB5) from an aqueous solution. This work focused on the equilibrium isotherms and the kinetics of the adsorption process.
May 01, 2011 · One of the largest sources of biomass from agricultural residues in Malaysia is palm haiqi . The waste is generated from oil palm milling process and with more than 270 palm oil mills operating in the country, nearly more than 2.4 million tones of palm haiqi wastes are produced annually . The amount is equaled to 45.84 PJ (petajoule) of energy
In this study, solid oil palm haiqi (OPS) waste biomass was subjected to microwave pyrolysis conditions with uniformly distributed coconut activated carbon (CAC) microwave absorber. The effects of CAC loading (wt%), microwave power (W) and N2 flow rate (LPM) were investigated on heating profile, bio-oil yield and its composition.
Apr 14, 2020 · Contrary to a consensus that palm oil as a feedstock for biodiesel will create food-energy nexus concerns (Olarinde and Olawuyi, 2013); availability of palm olein based on of consumer preference can be an economic advantage for commercial biodiesel production from palm olein. Traditionally, Nigerians prefer a high percentage of palm stearin
Dec 12, 2019 · In this study, palm oil kernel haiqi (PKS), an agricultural waste is utilized as effective adsorbent for the removal of heavy metals, namely; Cr 6+, Pb 2+, Cd 2+ and Zn 2+ from water. Different
An oil palm waste is considered to be one type of biomass which is the potential energy resource. The palm oil industry in Thailand generates large quantity of biomass wastes whose disposal is a challenging task. PKS are the haiqi fractions left after the nut has been removed after crushing in the palm oil mill.
During wet extraction of palm oil, 168 kg crude palm oil and 60 kg palm kernel are produced from one ton of fresh fruit. The waste or by-product streams generated are 140 kg fiber, 60 kg haiqi, 240 kg empty fruit bunches, 42 kg decanter cake, 48 kg ash, and 0.64 m 3 palm oil mill effluent (POME) wastewater (Chavalparit et al., 2006).
Palm kernel haiqi is a well known biomass product because of it small in size and high in heat energy or calorific value. Palm kernel is kernel from oil palm fruit. After the oil palm fruit gone through the palm oil process, the kernel will be shaiqirated and kernel oil will further be distilled.
