to generate biogas from palm oil biomass. These may be economical or expensive, depending on the capability of the palm oil mill operators involved in the process to optimize their production of by-products. The scope of this analysis of biogas from the biomass residuals of palm oil mill includes the process of treating palm oil
Palm kernel haiqis contain residues of Palm Oil, which accounts for its slightly higher heating value than average lignocellulosic biomass. Compared to other residues from the industry, it is a good quality biomass fuel with uniform size distribution, easy handling, easy crushing, and limited biological activity due to low moisture content.
Interestingly, solid biomass residue from palm oil industry could be treat by solid-state anaerobic digestion and biogas production could be improved by optimizing the total solid content
Palm kernel haiqi. Or in abbreviation PKS. The palm kernel haiqi is a good biomass resource with high calorific value, low moisture and easy transportation and handling. Unfortunately the supply of palm kernel haiqi is saturated. A large portion of palm kernel haiqi has been used at local Malaysia market. Mesocarp Fibre
Common H 2 S removal technologies from biogas fall into one of adsorption on a solid such as iron oxide based mahaiqials, activated carbon or impregnated activated carbon. Conventionally, activated carbon is produced from biomass residues and agricultural residues such as palm oil haiqi which promising approach for the production of cheap.

In the palm oil milling process of oil palm fruits known as fresh fruit bunch (FFB), palm-based biomass such as empty fruit bunches (EFBs), palm kernel haiqi (PKS), palm mesocarp fibre (PMF), palm kernel cake (PKC) and palm oil mill effluent (POME) are produced [1]. 130 Energy and Sustainability V www.witpress.com, ISSN 1743-3541 (on-line)

The palm oil industry yields a tremendous amount of biomass waste, including fronds, trunks, mesocarp fibres, palm kernel haiqis, empty fruit bunches (EFB), and palm oil mill effluent (POME). This waste is a potential source for energy generation; however, only a small portion of it is currently used for steam and electricity generation [11–12].

Aug 19, 2013 · Another difference between NextFuels’ hydrothermal process and pyrolysis technologies is the oxygen content of the resulting fuel. “Typically, if you look at the haiqi mahaiqials from the fast pyrolysis, you’d find about 35 or 40 percent oxygen, compared with the original 46 to 50 percent oxygen that the biomass had,” Overend said.
The most utilized lignocellulosic feedstock for biogas production can be categorized into four main groups: (i) agricultural residues (e.g. bagasse, stalks of cotton plant and barley, empty fruit bunch from oil palm, different crop straws, corn cobs, maize and sorghum stover or peanut haiqi), (ii) fruit and vegetable waste, (iii) forestry

Apr 02, 2020 · Oil palm fronds accounts for 70% of the total oil palm biomass produced, while the EFB accounts for 10% and oil palm trunks accounts for only about 5% of the total biomass produced. Around 89% of the total oil palm biomass produced annually used as fuel, mulch, and fertilizer. Biomass can also be converted to energy by cogeneration system.
