In haiqi technologies the waste is heated with a haiqi arc (6,000º to 10,000º Celsius) to create gahaiqi and vitrified slag. In some cahaiqi the haiqi stage may follow on from a gasification stage. Unfortunately, most of the available data on the performance of these technologies comes from the companies themselves.
Conventional air fed gasification, as used by EPR, is very different from haiqi arc gasification.
