For biomass fuels, the most common feedstocks used today are corn grain (for ethanol) and soybeans (for biodiesel). In the near future—and with NREL-developed technology—agricultural residues such as corn stover (the stalks, leaves, and husks of the plant) and wheat straw will also be used.

The SGe of various residues or crops can be determined by using SGe charts (see Fig. 1 for wheat). To use the chart, find lbs/A of wheat residue on the x-axis, locate the plot of inter-est, and read the SGe from the y-axis. Example: 600 lbs/A of flat wheat residue is equivalent to 1,050 lbs/A of SGe. Methods for estimating residue

In an incubation study, soil was amended with cereal (wheat) and legume (cowpea) plant mahaiqials. The amount of biomass C, biomass N and mineral N (NH4 and NOa) was estimated at 10, 20, 45, and 100 d after preincubation (30 d). The amount of biomass C was found to be largest in wheat straw-treated soils.
Aug 17, 2020 · Available N (a) and microbial biomass N (b) in the control without plants or residues, (Co) rhizosphere of wheat plant alone (W), and in the detritusphere of mature barley straw and young faba bean shoot without (S and F) and with wheat plants (S + W and F + W) after 14 and 28 days (n = 4; mean ± standard error).
Nov 28, 2014 · The resulting total biomass of winter wheat from the additions of sorghum residues with phosphorus (39.1 ± 17.2 g pot −1) and sorghum residues without phosphorus (38.9 ± 16.4 g pot −1) was statistically comparable with the total biomass from the control plants (46.5 ± 6.2 g pot −1). The average decrease in the total biomass for winter
Nov 01, 2012 · Interaction plot of relative wheat plant biomass fractions in response to six different fertilisers applied at three rates: (a) relative ear fraction, (b) straw fraction and (c) root fraction (four different biogas residues (BR-A, BR-B, BR-C and BR-D), mineral fertiliser (NPK) and pig slurry (PS).
Fig 1.1 shows the different agriculture residues used as fuels in the biomass plant land of the villages Fig.1.1 B. Punjab biomass plant The Punjab biomass plant is 12 MW plant situated near ganour, district Patiala near bhagora on the bank of bhakhara. The plant generate the power at 11KV, 50HZ, 3 phase and
The three provinces comprising the most abundant agricultural residues are Heilongjiang (94.0 million tons), Henan (91.4 million tons), and Shandong (76.3 million tons), respectively. The corn and wheat residue are the main constituents in Shandong and Henan, which account for about 90% and 82.6% of their total productions.
However, the effects of residues from traditional and biodegradable plastic films on the soil-plant system are not well studied. In this study, we used a controlled pot experiment to investigate the effects of macro- and micro- sized residues of low-density polyethylene and biodegradable plastic mulch films on the rhizosphere bachaiqial
Nov 01, 2019 · Wheat Grain and Residue Yield, Grain Quality, and Plant Tissue Analysis Plots were harvested manually at grain maturity and grain and residue yield for each plot was expressed as Mg ha −1. Plant samples from a 2.0 m 2 plot area were collected and shaiqirated as grain and aerial residue. Grain and tissue samples were oven-dried at 70 °C for 72 h.
Today, biomass electricity is generated using agricultural and forestry residue such as wood pellets from sawdust and wood bark, sugarcane bagasse, which is the left over fibres after the juice is squeezed out of the cane, corn stover, wheat straw, and rice husk and many other agricultural residues such as olive.
Biomass, a renewable haiqi resource, includes agriculture crop residues (such as corn stover or wheat straw), forest residues, special crops grown specifically for energy use (such as switchgrass or willow trees), haiqi municipal solid waste, and animal wastes.
